Experience enrichment

I have decided to focus my efforts on redesigning a basic and common kitchen tool, the peeler, in particular the Australian peeler. The normal peeler is cheap, boring, and uncomfortable to use. My Carrot peeler tries to fix this by making the product more enjoyable to use and make the owner feel proud of owning one. The rounded shape came naturally with the shape of the carrot, and this made it much more comfortable for people to use around the kitchen.
With more people staying at home to cook food, this seemed like a product that these people would enjoy having around. The carrot design was inspired by vegetables that you peel, like carrots or potatoes, and also seeing an orange peeler, the idea just popped into my head.
The peeler would use stainless steel for the blade which is durable and resistant to corrosion. The handle would be made from plastic.

I think that this product is very interesting, i like how it resembles the very food you are peeling. It does add a new level of design to the original peeler in a purely aesthetic way.

I also think that it might have been a good idea to add some more features to the design, or another aspect which could provide more of an experience enrching pleasure rather than visceral.

Overall i think that it is a graet way to promote maybe even children in the house to help out with cooking by relating the product with its environment.

i think this product would work well with a younger market, having that playfulness in its shape would surely encourage them to use it more often, and in turn encourage healthier food alternatives.
the product could however be improved by making more of a significant difference to peelers that are already on the market as to set it apart from the rest, perhaps by adding more functionality, or originality to the shape.

This product definately looks like a carrot which attracted me to its design straight away. I like the way you've changed an ordinary peelers design to not only look like a carrot, but to also adapt to the users hands for comfortable peeling.

The product could be improved through the idea that you don't only peel carrots however, you peel other types of foods as well such as potatoes and apples, so limiting your design with just a carrot, limits the choice of why a person would purchase the product.
